Will Allan has been a Chicago-based actor since 2008 when he made his debut as Claudio in "Much Ado About Nothing" at First Folio Theatre. He then went on to a six-month run of "The History Boys" at TimeLine Theatre which opened to rave reviews and brought home five Equity Joseph Jefferson Awards including Outstanding Production of a Play and Outstanding Ensemble. Following "The History Boys", Will went on to play Leper in "A Separate Peace" at the Steppenwolf Theatre and was the Servant and performed as Konstantin in Robert Falls' critically acclaimed production of "The Seagull" at the Goodman Theater. He received his most personal praise for his portrayal of Billy in Remy Bumppo's production of "The Goat or, Who is Sylvia?" After viewing this performance, TimeOut Chicago states that he "continues to be one of the city’s most appealing young actors" and Windy City Times calls his turn a "breakthrough performance". He has also worked in Chicago with Victory Gardens Theater, Chicago Children's Theatre, Strawdog Theatre, American Theatre Company, and regionally with the Heartland Festival. He took his first turn behind the scenes in 2011 as the Assistant Director of TimeLine Theatre's Chicago Premiere of "In Darfur".
This summer, he can be seen as Romeo in First Folio Theatre's production of "Romeo and Juliet". In 2012, he will appear as Ken in "Red" at the Human Race Theatre Company in Ohio and as Stephen Walsh in the World Premiere of E.L. Doctorow's "The March" at Steppenwolf Theatre (adapted and directed by Frank Galati).
He is a recent graduate of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois and also studied acting at The Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia.
When he isn't on stage or in the theatre, his favorite things to do are travel around the world, play softball in the Chicago Theatre Softball League, and hang out with his cat, Coraline Jones.
