Rob's happy to call Chicago home having lived here now just over a year and a half. He moved here from the Tampa/St. Pete area of Florida, where he worked many years as an actor and his "day job" as a police officer. In addition to Florida, Rob has also acted for stage and film in Atlanta and Milwaukee. He received his MFA in Acting from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.
Since moving to Chicago, he's worked with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Drury Lane Oakbrook, Seanachai, Pine Box, DreamLogic Theaterworks, and Oracle. For his performance in DreamLogic's HAMLET, Keith Griffith of THE CHICAGO READER said, "...Glidden radiates voluble, befuddled charm as Polonius." Bob Bullen of CHICAGO THEATRE ADDICT said, "Rob Glidden also steals every scene he's in as King Claudius's bumbling chief counselor Polonius."
Rob had the recent honor and privilege of being nominated for the 2011 Chicago Theater Honor Awards in the supporting actor category for two shows: DreamLogic's HAMLET and Seanachai Theater Company's THE SHADOW OF A GUNMAN.
Rob is excited about continuing his acting career in this great city. He would also like to say that while he likes the BEARS, he is and will most undoubtedly forever remain a die-hard REDSKINS fan. GO SKINS!!
