Inspired by her older brother’s passion for the craft, Rae began acting at the age of four. She has regularly performed in commercials and movies up until her professional theater debut in Number the Stars at Apple Tree Theater, and beyond. Since then, Rae has appeared around town at the Goodman, Steppenwolf, Ravinia, Northlight, Marriott Lincolnshire, Drury Lane Oakbrook, Theater at the Center, Timeline, Remy Bumppo, The Gift, Provisions, and Collaboraction, along with the Gateway Playhouse in New York.

Now a teen, she is looking to make the transition into more adult roles. For her first teenage role on stage, and most recent theater venture (Summer People at The Gift Theatre), she garnered a fabulous review from Chicago Tribune reporter ChrisJones: “Partly a coming-of-age story, Connell’s play features a very promisingyoung Chicago actress named Rae Gray, who has now graduated from her many childroles around town to a character with quite the adult interest in that visiting soldier…” In February of 2010, she portrayed the title role of Tammy in the film, The Dark One, set to hit film festivals soon.

More than anything, Rae is a hard worker, and puts all ofher effort into every audition and opportunity. After seeing Billy Elliot theMusical on Broadway, she has become an avid tap, ballet, and jazz dancer, taking multiple classes a day. She will continue to work on dance this summer, along with improve, acrobatics, singing, and of course, acting.

Rae is a member of the class of 2014 at the University ofChicago in Hyde Park, and is currently in her sophomore year.
