Resume
Philip Markle hails from San Francisco, California, and he's still proud to say his cell phone has a (415) area code. Since graduating from Northwestern University in 2008, he has worked professionally as an actor, director, improviser, and teacher in Chicago.
He is a member of various improv and sketch groups in Chicago, and has performed at theaters such as Second City, iO, The Annoyance, Studio Be, Gorilla Tango, and in both the Chicago and San Francisco Improv Festivals. He created his own original musical improv show - Happy Karaoke Fun Time! - which was featured live on the air on WCIU's You And Me In The Morning.
He is also a proud company member of Barrel of Monkeys, an arts education theater ensemble that works in under-served Chicago public schools to teach creative writing and performance, and performs weekly with them in the critically acclaimed public show That's Weird, Grandma! on Monday nights at the Neo-Futurist Theater.
Philip is the co-founder and Associate Director of the Actors Training Center at the Wilmette Theatre, where he has taught young actors for the past four years in Chicago. Nothing brings him as much joy as working with young actors.
He is thrilled to be performing with Second City Theatricals on the high-seas in the Caribbean on The Epic - Norwegian Cruise Line's Flagship - from late October 2011 to late February 2012.
