Lauren loves a good story and loves performing a good story even better. Growing up in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Lauren spent her time taking dance, piano and clarinet lessons, and studying theater at the Piven Theatre workshop. She is an alum of their Young Peoples Company, and from time to time can still be seen there, performing in shows and teaching classes and workshops. Over the past 10 years, Lauren has also been studying circus arts at the Actors Gymnasium, and can be found there, flying thru the air, teaching and performing as well. She found a great place to combine her dance, music, circus and theatre skills with Lookingglass Theatre, where she is an Artistic Associate. She has performed in multiple shows at Lookingglass, including the 5 Jeff award wining production Hard Times, and more notably, originated the role of “Alice” in their signature piece, Lookingglass Alice, (Jeff nominated Best Ensemble), an acrobatic adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Lauren has more than 340 performances of Alice under her belt, including several remounts and tours to the McCarter Theater (Princeton), Arden Theatre (Philadelphia) and off broadway at the New Victory Theatre (NY). Lauren is constantly learning, and loves performing, whether it be combining her talents, or focusing on one element at a time. But mostly, she is looking forward to what opportunity comes along next.
