A Chicago native, Katie has been working for over half of her life as an on-camera and stage performer. Earning her opportunity to join both SAG and AFTRA in her teens, Katie has since appeared in over 75 commercials and over 25 industrials. In 2000, she appeared in What Women Want where she enjoyed meeting and working with Mel Gibson and director Nancy Meyers. In 2002, Katie earned great reviews for her role as Elma Duckworth in Illinois Theatre Center’s (ITC) production of Bus Stop. Following up that performance, Katie was pleased when ITC brought her back for the role of Caitlin in Over the River and Through the Woods. Katie followed these two performances up by playing a role from one of her favorite books appearing as Cherry Valance in Apple Tree Theatre TYA’s production of the The Outsiders. Shortly after that, Katie was thrilled to earn the role of Marley in Edward Allen Baker’s Chicago premiere of his one act play, Up, Down, Strange, Charmed, Beauty, and Truth at the WNEP Theatre where she revealed one of her most powerful performances. In 2005, Katie beat out thousands of hopeful actresses when she earned a spot on the The Starlet, shot in Los Angeles. For Katie, this was a great learning experience and one that prompted her relocation to the west coast. While in Los Angeles, Katie appeared in several national commercials including spots for McDonald’s and Subway. She lived and successfully worked in Los Angeles until 2008 when she moved back to Chicago to continue her education. Having graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011, Katie is proud to be working with Gray Talent Group and excited to be back to work in the Windy City.
