Kate is an actress, improviser, and writer.  Originally from Virginia, Kate spent her high school years in a suburb of Chicago prior to returning to the south to earn her B.A. in Theatre from Wake Forest University.  While there, she was nominated for an Irene Ryan Award for excellence in acting and received the departmental award for Best Actress.  After graduation, Kate moved back to Chicago where she has taken many improv and acting classes including European Repertory's Chekhov Master Class and Solo Improvisation. She is a graduate of Second City's Improv Conservatory and Musical Improv Program and iO's improvisation program.

She is an understudy for Sky's the Limit (Weather Permitting) on The Second City's e.t.c. Stage; for The Second City Touring Company; for The History of Chicago and Sex, Love & The Second City in the UP Comedy Club.  She previously toured with The Second City as a cast member aboard Norwegian Cruise Line.  She previously toured with The Second City aboard Norwegian Cruise Line.  She is a regular performer at iO and can be seen throughout the week performing with The Katydids, Virgin Daiquiri, and Rick in addition to being a guest improviser with The Deltones and Whirled News Tonight.  She has performed in various theatres and festivals across the country including iO West in Los Angeles and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC.  For more information, please visit her website at katelambert.net and be sure to check out her reel.
