Jordan is an actor, a writer and a teacher. Chicago has been his artistic home for six years. He was well reviewed in his Writers' Theatre debut of The Real Thing. Previous to that he worked with director Jon Jory and last year Shappell originated the role of Thomas Gallaudet in the National Theatre of the Deaf's production of Journeys of Identity. His Chicago credits include Sketchbook: Evolution (Collaboraction), The Lady And The Tyger (Point of Contention Theatre Company) and several productions at the Theatre School at DePaul University: Extremities, The Lover, Dancing at Lughnasa, Thirst, Sin, Loose Knitand many others.

His film credits include Life Amended (Orange Chair), Running Buddies (MCG), Dear HopeSometimes and Sloppy Joe (RLS Creative). Shappell is not only an actor, but a playwright as well, having published two plays that have been adapted to film.

He is a teacher of Russian Theatre and Forensics to high schoolers all across the country. Currently he teaches poetry at a non-profit creative writing center, writes for a poetry blog and will read almost any short story. If he isn't obsessively watching sports, he's playing them.

He is dedicated to developing his artistry, prides himself on hard work and is a perpetual learner.
