After 12 seasons as host/writer of two popular national TV design shows, Joan Kohn was thrilled to rejoin Chicago's theatrical community in 2011 with roles at ATC and 16th Street Theater.

"Among my fondest career memories are two of my TV specials (the White House Christmas Special and the fairytale-like holiday tour of Biltmore Estate in Asheville) and incredible on-set conversations with Morgan Freeman and Kevin McCarthy."

In addition to TV, film, theater, commercials, industrials and voiceovers, Joan was artist-in-residence at the Gold Star Sardine Bar and a spokesperson for WTTW; and received two Chicago Midwest Emmys, an Iris Award and a Women's Sports Foundation Award for her  work as co-writer and talent director of the nationally syndicated kids' sports/fitness show "Energy Express" for WGN Superstation. While hosting her TV shows, Joan lectured widely at home and garden shows and design centers across the country and wrote an acclaimed series of home design books for AOL-Time Warner.

Joan received her M.A. in theater from Northwestern University and her B.A. from the University of Michigan.
