A Chicago native, Jessi Pérez accidently started her acting career with a leading role in the feature film Bloom, since then she has gone on to work on several film and theater projects. Highlights include productions with Latino theatre companies Teatro Luna and Teatro Vista, as well working both behind the scenes and on stage for the world premiere of "I'm a Female... Seeking a Male" and "Leaving Iowa" (nominated Best New Play by Detroit Free Press). Fluent in Spanish, she can rock a wicked Cuban accent (thanks Tia Ela).

Jessi is a dedicated volunteer with Big Brothers, Big Sisters and is active in the anti-violence movement. You may find her salsa dancing, studying martial arts or painting wineglases any given day-- that is, when she's not being entertained by (or entertaining) her loud-but-lovable Cubadorian family.
