Resume
Jesse Manson is a widely traveled actor who has decided to settled in Chicago. Jesse earned his Master of Fine Arts in Shakespeare in Performance from Mary Baldwin College in association with the American Shakespeare Center. His work in Chicago has brought him to the Charnel House Theatre, Chicago Dramatists, and most recently Lifeline Theatre. Though much of his training has been in Renaissance drama, Jesse has recently found great success in the ultra-contemporary, including a world premier of Richard Adams' novel Watership Down and Sheila Callaghan's That Pretty, Pretty...or The Rape Play. Jesse is thrilled working with multiple methods of storytelling that span widely varying genres.
Jesse is also a student of stage combat. He possesses certificates of proficiency from the Society of American Fight Directors in Unarmed, Knife, and Single Sword. He has attended workshops for various other weapon styles and learned greatly from the myriad other styles of violence he has encountered, from tomahawks to firearms. Additionally, Jesse has taught Single Sword with former SAFD Vice President Colleen Kelly and instructed middle and high school students in the basics of stage violence.
Jesse is an enthusiastic actor who is also an avid biker and marathon runner. He looks forward to devoting his energy and skill to your next project.
