Jan began in the business more than 25 years ago booking still photography models at a talent agency in Phoenix, Arizona. Since then she has worked as an actor & performer in several markets including Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit, where she was fortunate to have taken ten years' master acting workshops with Uta Hagen and playwriting classes with Milan Stitt and Vincent Cardinal.

In 1990, Jan was among the 11 founding members of Heartlande Theatre Company, an organization that has since fostered more than 300 new works for the stage through its annual marathon of short plays. A writer as well as producer and actor, Jan has also had several of her own plays read or produced in Detroit, Chicago and New York. As an actor Jan has done extensive work as an on-camera & voice-over talent in commercials and industrial films carving out a niche as a corporate spokesperson for clients such as Volkswagen, Kelly Services and K-Mart.

A lifelong student herself, Jan enjoys teaching and has?presented?classes and workshops in acting, writing and the use of the "ear".

In a former life Jan spent 10 years as a nightclub singer, touring the country as part of a Top 40 dance band and even recording for a short period of time as part of a vocal group signed to Warner Bros. and A&M. Not a particularly gifted vocalist, Jan is the living embodiment of the truism "Close enough for Rock."
