Resume
Dan Rodden has called Chicago his home since 1995, moving here after getting tired of touring and summer stock. There's only so long you can live out of a suitcase...or an '87 Dodge Omni.
Born in Lima, Ohio, he attended High School in the central Illinois town of Monticello. Growing up, he was fortunate to live in home and school environments that fostered the arts. After high school, he attended university in Anderson, Indiana. Although always active in theatre, he spent seven yearsusing his degree in Broadcast Communications working in radio as on-air talent and Production Manager before turning his energies full-time to the even more lucrative career of theatre. His profession, since, has taken him to New York, Rhode Island, Nebraska, Texas, all the way up to Anchorage, Alaska, and all around the Chicago area.
This past winter he was honored to be the professional guest artist as Don Quixote in MAN OF LA MANCHA at Normandale College in Bloomington, Minnesota. Other recent productions include playing Felix in THE ODD COUPLE at Drury Lane Oakbrook Theatre; as well as Dr. Terry Adams in The Nightingale Group's MARRYING TERRY at The Victory Gardens Greenhouse. He has also done numerous classical staged readings with The Shakespeare Project of Chicago, including Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing. Elsewhere on Chicago area stages, Dan was seen as Antipholus of Syracuse in THE COMEDY OF ERRORS(Oak Park Festival Theatre); Charles in BLITHE SPIRIT, Mortimer in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, Doctor Watson in SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE CURSE OF THE SIGN OF FOUR and Bob Cratchit in A CHRISTMAS CAROL (New American Theater); PERFECT WEDDING and FUNNY MONEY (Drury Lane Evergreen Park); Dad in the Chicago premiere of Steve Martin's WASP AND EXCERPTS FROM CRUEL SHOES (The Aardvark); ASSASSINS (Jeff Award Best Musical - Apple Tree Theatre); PASSION (Pegasus Players); and improvisational fun at the IO Chicago.
