Brandy Brooks
Hair: Brown |
Eyes: Brown
Brandy has been honing her craft and putting it to good use for the past 6 years in Chicago. She attended Columbia College Chicago to get her BA in Theatre and MA in Interdisciplinary Arts. She feels her educational experience has shaped her into a well rounded, thoughtful artist who is in constant need to challenge her brain and body. She has appeared in small store front theatres like Prop Thtr, in The Darkest Pitt portraying Natalie. A review from Time Out Chicago sums up her acting style quite nicely by Melissa Albert saying, “And Brandy as an elegant sociopath gives her lines the breathing room they deserve.”
Brandy is fascinated by doing commercials as they are one of the biggest methods our culture gets advertised. She has worked with awesome production companies in the past giving her further insight to being a vital piece behind the camera. She enjoyed working with the production team from Myste River Enterprises for Disney’s 2011 Planning DVD’s for Vacation and Cruise. She spent 4 days in sunny Orlando, Florida and loved every minute of it. But she especially loved being able to relate to each mother and child she was addressing about the Disney characters and rides. She has a 3 year old daughter who loves Disney more than anything in the whole world!
Besides acting Brandy has a great interest in writing and has recently started to write a fictional play about the dangers of love, lust, and betrayal. She hopes to finish it by the end of next year and have a brave enough soul to publish the piece. She also enjoys teaching children theatre. She has taught kids, 2 – 13 years of age, at First Baptist Preschool and Kindergarten in Oak Park and recently conquered teaching a 6 week theatre program to awesome-crazy kid artists at Columbia College Chicago’s Summer Arts Camp.
