Getting to Know Gray Talent Group
Gray Talent Group is a SAG, AFTRA, Equity and non-union agency talent agency that secures work for actors in film, theatre, commercials, voiceovers, industrials, website and print advertisements. We have a passion to work closely with a select number of actors to help them develop a blueprint for career success, be it making a living in their profession in Chicago or ultimately heading to LA or New York. We are unique in our commitment to nurturing diverse and hard to find types and in the personal service and response we provide to casting directors and actors who employ us to be their exclusive Chicago agent.

Mission Statement

To provide amazing actors to casting directors, producers, advertising agencies and production companies in Chicago and major markets. All talent is put through a rigorous audition process and signed exclusively to Gray. Committed to actor training, Gray has very high standards, resulting in excellent performances and reliability.

Executive Team

Dawn Gray, President
Dawn Gray has been a talent agent for the past ten years, placing actors in such high visibility films and television shows as Contagion, Boss, The Chicago Code, and Shameless as well as in national commercials and Broadway shows. Prior to that she produced the film, Stray Dogs, which is available on Netflix. Dawn previously ran a successful business, MOMents Inc, which provided support to working mothers and also has extensive experience in public relations and marketing. A proud graduate of Northwestern University, and a former child actor, Dawn is delighted to pursue her passion of helping actors find success in this wonderful, wacky business.

Brooke Shoemaker, Agent
Brooke Shoemaker joined Gray Talent Group when the doors opened from Claire Simon Casting, where she had worked as a freelance casting assistant, handling street casting and assisting with on-camera auditions. As an agent at Gray Talent Group, she has recently helped book actors on various television projects including placing actors in starring and recurring roles on the series Shameless (Showtime), Level Up (Cartoon Network), and Boss (Starz) along with various roles on the television series Playboy (NBC), Detroit 187 (ABC), and The Chicago Code (Fox). Recent film projects have included booking actors in Conviction, Flipped, Trust, 30 min or Less, Contagion, Machine Gun Preacher, Salvation Boulevard, and Real Steel. She is a graduate of the Columbia College acting program and has a minor in Entertainment Business with a focus on talent management. Previous to her work in casting, Brooke worked as a costumer and freelance makeup artist in Chicago. Brooke is also a part-time faculty member at Columbia College in the AEMM department where she teaches aspiring talent managers and agents. Brooke feels very blessed everyday to be able to do what she loves and to work with the most talented and wonderful actors in Chicago.
